Escarpment Vineyard Pinot Noir 2006
Colour is a satin purple with robes of red. The nose is heady and almost European, expressing earth and richness, dense fragrant natural Pinot, cherry and licorice characters. Fragrant cherry and ripe plum, swirls ying and yang-like around a figure of seductive sweet fruit tannins, building structure, exuding finesse and magnificence.
Elegant, strong and confident slow ripened flavours, an outstanding North Island Pinot that's fragrant, soft and flavoursome with incredible cherry ripe acids and gentle sweet fruit tannins, velvety and seriously structureed. Perfume, elegant fruit flavours, and soft ripe tannins are all hallmarks of this exceptional Pinot. "Excellent pinosity. Builds up in the glass. A lovely stylish wine!"
