Lambert Vineyards Cabernet Merlot 2004
Tasting Notes This cabernet merlot was matured in French oak for 22 months. It displays rich blackcurrant fruit with sweet pepper, spice and cedar characters. The blend includes 10% merlot, which adds a hint of plum and creates a smooth elegant, velvet finish. It is great to drink now, and will benefit from further cellaring.
Food Pairings and Serving Suggestions The cabernet merlot blend produces a medium-heavy bodied wine, and pairs easily with medium-heavy weight foods such as sausages, lamb or beef stews, roast lamb, venison, duck, and dishes with mushrooms. Hearty pasta dishes and pizzas with strong flavours can also pair well.
The wine should be served at cool room temperature. It can be opened right before you intend to serve it, but the wine will soften if you open it an hour or so before serving.
