Te MATA Winery Woodthorpe Chardonnay 2006
This Chardonnay has ripe stone fruit and citrus characters subtly enhanced by fermation in seasoned oak barrels, lees contact and a creamy malolactic influence, to created a rich and elegant wine.
Woodthorpe Chardonnay 2006 is a light straw colour, with aromas and flavours of ripe pineapple, nougat and sweet lemon. Its fine, concentrated palate and elegant finish promise continued development in bottle for 2-4 years from harvest.
Woodthorpe Chardonnay 2006 is a wonderful partner with simply prepared, rich, full flavoured dishes, such as fresh shellfish, grilled white meats and summer vegetables. Brian Margetts recommends it with baked avocado stuffed with blue cheese.
