Willow Creek Vineyard Chardonnay 2005
The WCV Chardonnay is hand picked and pressed as whole bunches and then fermented in tank. Lively, stimulating and refreshing, it displays pure, varietal flavours of lemon, melon citrus blossom and a tight, crisp finish.
A perfect flowering and dry, cool growing season was followed by refreshing summer rains meaning no irrigation was necessary. The sun arrived prior to picking and fruit flavours are pure, ripe and fresh.
Matured without oak, this fine, tangy wine packs a lemony, zesty fruit punch and finishes as crisp as a southerly breeze.
Whole bunch pressed without additives, briefly settled, and wild yeast fermented. Delicate, cool, creamy and leesy nuances add a subtle fullness.
The fruit for this wine comes from the east facing slopes next to the driveway and opposite the winery and cellar.
Unmistakably Chardonnay…. ultimately invigorating.
