Featured Wine: Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Borossa Cabernet tends to be overlooked at the expense of the region’s much –louded Shiraz but this wine is helping us break that trend. Over the past 3-4 years our Cabernet has become increasingly popular, as customers look for a bigger richer style of wine. This is one of Heritage’s most consistent wines and the 2005 is similar to the last 4 Vintages, which will no doubt please the already converted. Distinctly Cabernet, this is a big wine with real flavours and none of the green, stalky characteristics so often found in young Cabernets. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a blockbuster of a wine with rich dark fruit and balanced soft oak tannins, produced from 12 months ageing in American oak barriques. This is definitely a wine to cellar for a number of years but for now, it is seriously easy drinking.
